Liposuction FAQ’S

Liposuction is the process in which only unwanted fat cells are liquidified and aspirated (removed) from a specific area of your body using a specialised cannulas and suction machine via a very small incision(0.5-0.8cm).

The abdomen, Ankles, Arms, Buttocks, Cheeks, Chin, Hips, Knees, Neck, Thighs, Upper arms, and Waist can be treated with liposuction.

The procedure is carried out in GA or LA with Intravenous sedation depending upon the area to be liposuctioned and the amount of fat to be removed.

Patients who undergo liposuction have good skin tone as against those patients who would require tummy tuck.
The skin after liposuction redrapes itself to the new body proportions.

Stretch marks getting removed is an additional benefit that a Tummy tuck can give. In liposuction, there is no excess skin to be removed but only fat hence stretchmarks stay the same or may reduce to a small extent but do not disappear.

It can be used for fat grafting in different areas in the same patient if there is a need or it is discarded.

Liposuction primarily is not a weight loss surgery, it is a body contouring surgery.

As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, its effects last long-term.
